We're back! Hope my little hiatus wasn't too long, but with AP testing, spring concerts, and finals, I have been busy just stressing myself out. However, I've missed writing posts for Rag Doll, and I've got a whole collection of new articles I hope to be releasing soon. Anyways, regarding "Friday Flicks", I've seen a ton of a great movies, but the one I want to talk about the most is "That Night" (1992). So let's dive right in.

Acting: 10/10
Ponyboy! My old junior high crush is back on the screen and cute as ever. I could write for days about his chemistry for Juliet Lewis but suffice it to say the first scene, where they meet in the bowling alley, gave me heart palpitations. Eliza Dushku is adorable and a little too relatable as the curious and precocious Alice. I live for the "good girl loves bad boy" trope and this movie really delivered.

Costuming: 10/10
As you all know, I'm a sucker for a period piece especially when the costumes are great. I would kill for the entirety of Sheryl's wardrobe from her preppy pastel petticoats to her greaser chic crop tops and hot pants. The world would probably be a better place if all the men in the world started wearing Rick's swoon worthy bowling shirts and aviator shades.

Set Design: 10/10
Set in the Long Island suburbs, each scene is full of small town charm. Watching the kids and their almost ridiculous freedom really does make you nostalgic. Who wouldn't want to take off to the beach or bowling whenever they feel like it?

Soundtrack: 10/10
Nothing is more heartwarming than watching characters fall in love to the doo-wop classics of the late 50s/ early 60s. The music of Richie Valens, Aretha Franklin, and Dion does a great job of transporting you to the period, and wrapping you up in the story.

Final Score: 10/10
All in all, "That Night" was just a really cute movie, and I've been obsessed with it ever since I watched it. I can't remember the last time I actually cried during a movie, but this one had me tearing up toward the end. It's the perfect movie to watch after a long hard day, when you really just need a happy ending.
